Sappaya-Sapasathan Parliament Building: The grand facade of Thailand’s Parliament, an iconic symbol of national pride and legislative power.
Objective
The Sappaya-Sapasathan Parliament Building in Bangkok is more than a functioning government structure — it is a symbol of Thailand’s cultural heritage. However, water intrusion caused by hydrostatic pressure from the surrounding area posed a severe threat to its concrete foundation. The objective was to halt this intrusion immediately and implement along-lasting waterproofing solution to ensure the structure’s integrity for decades to come.

Prepping with Greasy Clean prior to applying PRO Tek Concrete, to active leak areas in the parkade of the Parliament Building.
Process
EverTek Canada was honoured with the opportunity to work on this international project. After preparing the surface using Greasy Clean, the EverTek team applied PRO Tek Concrete directly to the parkade area, where several active leaks were detected. PRO Tek Concrete’s penetrating technology worked beneath the surface to waterproof and densify the concrete, halting water migration while strengthening the substrate from within.
Solution
PRO Tek Concrete provided the ideal solution for this historic site. Within just 10 days, all active water intrusion was halted — a result that exceeded expectations. With the concrete now waterproofed, densified, and shielded against contaminants, the project has not only preserved the structural foundation but also laid the groundwork for future applications throughout the facility. Due to the success of this phase, EverTek Canada has been invited to continue working with the Thailand Government on future preservation projects.

Challenges and Considerations
The hydrostatic pressure around the structure created ongoing water infiltration that conventional surface sealers had failed to stop. Given the high-profile nature of the building and the critical need for long-term results, the solution had to be non-invasive, minimal business interruption, highly effective, and sustainable. This project demanded a product that could preserve rather than repair — one that prioritized preservation over restoration.
